The National Geospatial-Intelligence (NGA) Maritime Safety Office is seeking comments and suggestions for the next release of The American Practical Navigator, Pub. 09.
Commonly known as “Bowditch”, The American Practical Navigator was first published by Nathaniel Bowditch in 1802. The book is widely regarded as the quintessential encyclopedia of navigation.
Given recent changes in the art of navigation, mariners’ participation will be crucial in the development and writing of this important and historical book.
