The Chesapeake Bay Trust is accepting applications for its 2013 Annual Awards Program. This program honors students, teachers, individuals, communities, and organizations for their work to promote education, improve communities, and help restore the local rivers, streams, and other habitats of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Currently the Trust is soliciting applications and/or nominations for five awards: Teacher of the Year, Student of the Year, Honorable Arthur Dorman Scholarship, Ellen Fraites Wagner Award and Melanie Teems Award. Each award recognizes a particular area of achievement ranging from outdoor education to Bay stewardship to community leadership.
All applications for the Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Annual Awards Program must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2012, and must be completed online at www.cbtrust.org.
Applicants can be self-nominated or nominated by someone else, excluding family members. The winning applicants will be announced during the Trust’s Legislative Reception on January 24, 2013, in Annapolis.
The Trust’s Teacher of the Year award winner will receive a $2,500 mini grant for their school or institution and the two student scholarship winners will received $5,000 college scholarships.
