During the U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, North Sails presented a check to the Chesapeake Bay Trust to fund Bay restoration in Maryland. This $5,800 donation was the result of a charitable promotion North Sails ran during the summer to encourage sail recycling while also generating funds for the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a nonprofit, grant-making organization committed to Bay restoration and education.
During the months of July and August, North Sails launched a special promotion where the company provided a 20 percent savings on all new sails purchased if customers traded in their old sail. Then North Sails contributed 5 percent of the new sail purchase price to the Chesapeake Bay Trust to advance Bay restoration.
Created in 1985, the Chesapeake Bay Trust has awarded more than $45 million in grants to improve the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers through environmental education, community outreach and local watershed restoration
