Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay spring striped bass season opens at 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 21 with a one fish per person, per day limit and a minimum size of 28 inches through May 15.
Prior to May 16, Anglers may only fish for Chesapeake Bay striped bass from Brewerton Channel to the Virginia line (including Tangier Sound and Pocomoke Sound). Fishing is not allowed in all other bays, sounds, tributaries, creeks and rivers.
From May 16-December 15, anglers are allowed two fish, with a minimum size of 18 inches (only one of the two daily fish may exceed 28 inches)
Anglers who register citation size fish at Maryland Angler Award Centers across the State will receive free admission and a chance to win prizes at the 2012 Maryland Fishing Challenge Grand Finale.
