Chesapeake Bay Events recently announced the addition of Gregg Allman to the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival lineup for 2015. The festival will be held at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Maryland on May 16th and 17th. Gregg Allman will be closing the Saturday show.
Gregg Allman is one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band along with his brother Duane. Their album Live At The Fillmore East is considered to be one of the best albums of all times.
After Duane’s death in 1971, Gregg began a solo career. His album I’m No Angel went Gold in 1986. In 1989, he reformed The Allman Brothers Band. They ended their 45 year run in October 2014.
Artists scheduled to perform at the 2015 Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival include:
Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby Rush, Shemekia Copeland, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, Davy Knowles, Jarekus Singleton, Mingo Fishtrap, Quinn Sullivan and Patty Reese’s Sisterhood of Soul, and more.
Net proceeds from the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival go to charity. To date, the festival has raised over one million dollars for charity.
