SRA Severn Run Hike
10 am Saturday February 23, 2013
The Severn River Association (SRA) will host a Severn Run Hike on 10 am Saturday February 23. The hike is 1 hour in and 1 out. Hikers will meet on Rt 3, at the Severn Run bridge, next to I-97, parking area for the Severn Run Environmental area.
The hike will pass along open flood plains with a defined trail that runs along the Severn Run and past the fork at the Jabez Branch main stem, on up to Warfield Branch and beyond to expansive meadows with gently flowing water.
The Severn Run is the largest continuous source of fresh water in the Severn River watershed, and is historical habitat for fish reproduction, including yellow perch, white perch, pickerel, carp, and at one time, brook trout.
